ABOUT
Damaris Seda is a New Jersey-based artist who specializes in drawing and painting. She enjoys to experiment with different techniques and combing mediums to create a diverse body of work. Through this, she continues to keep her artistic growth alive, as she also dabbles in sculpture and printmaking; learning and relearning different ways to create. The goal is to create another world, to show this world where our true home is.
At an early age she discovered an interest in creating, through experiences with God, the need to tune into another world, and the yearning to bring it all to life, which birthed an exploration for the arts. She took this passion and talent with her after high school, as she graduated with an associates degree in visual arts in 2021 at Union County College. Her interest only grew stronger so she continued to pursue the arts and received her bachelor's degree in studio fine arts in 2024 at Kean University.

Her art is about Jesus, a reflection of His infinite qualities and power. The creative process develops from the secret place, meditating in the word of God or through prayer and worship. She is influenced by post-impressionism, surrealism, and abstraction, merging these inspirations to emulate the supernatural. This concept is presented through figurative and atmospheric settings in movement, combining the earth with the divine and favoring monochromatic palettes. She creates to represent the demonstration of God’s majesty in a tangible way. Throughout her development, she is continuously unfolding a body of work that brings awareness of a hope that never ceases.
